Psoriasis is far more than a cosmetic skin condition.

The olive extract used in the study contained high levels of hydroxytyrosol, one of the main antioxidant polyphenols naturally found in olives and olive vegetation water.
During the cardiovascular trial involving 35 patients, several participants happened to have psoriasis or other inflammatory skin conditions. Over time, Dr. Numano observed that some of these patients experienced visible improvements in their skin lesions while using the olive polyphenol formulation.
According to reports from the researchers involved:
- redness appeared reduced
- scaling diminished
- some lesions became less severe
- certain patients reported improved comfort
One patient reportedly experienced major improvement after several months of supplementation.

Olive polyphenols are natural plant compounds found in olives, olive leaves and especially high-quality extra virgin olive oil.

- lower intake of ultra-processed foods
Extra virgin olive oil functions within this larger nutritional ecosystem.

Health effects are rarely caused by a single "miracle ingredient." Instead, they emerge from long-term lifestyle patterns.
Important Scientific Balance

The current research does not prove that olive oil cures psoriasis.
However, the available evidence suggests that olive polyphenols and olive-derived compounds may support skin health through several mechanisms linked to:

Many studies remain:
- small
- exploratory
- observational
- or preclinical
Larger controlled human clinical trials are still needed.
